So you have brought your bundle of joy into the world, and want a refresh from the clothes that you wore for the 9 months leading up to your baby arriving Earth side.
Here is why those clothes can be put to good use if you are a basic sewer.
1. Stretch this way and that
Maternity clothes need stretch to encompass the growing form of the radiant mum to be. Babies and Toddlers need stretch in their clothes to keep them comfortable whether they are lying still or super active
2. The designs usually work
The designs used on maternity clothes often will work for transformation into toddler clothes. Spots, stripes, bolder patterns or plain block colours will all do the trick.
3. You do not have to buy the fabric!
You already own it, when I had my son, as a regular sewer, it seemed crazy to me to recycle such great fabric. The truth is that maternity clothes have often had a good bit of use, but as you do not need to use ALL of the fabric you can choose the parts which are less worn and still look fab when re-worked.
